Greenhills, Portland Oregon
Remodeled: 2008
Contractor: Green Gables Design and Restoration/ Robert Head, project manager

Originally built in the 1920s, this tudor style house had some grand spaces and details, but had seen better days when purchased by the current owners.  The remodel reconfigured and added to the kitchen and service area, to create a new kitchen and family room with lots of natural light, a new masonry fireplace, and french doors to a small porch opening onto the previously inaccessible front garden. An elevator was added to the house and the basement was entirely reworked to replace a warren of ad hoc spaces with a new guest suite and office, and a new recessed porch to provide direct access to the pool. The new construction is seamlessly worked in with the old, extending and improving the original house.  Photography:  Corky Miller
