Interior after renovation. Some of the ceiling was vaulted and a skylight was added. The brick flue and original fir floors were exposed, and the interior walls were re-arranged to optimize space in a small house.

Renovated: 2009

Originally built in 1900, heavily remodeled sometime after WWII, barely escaping arson after being left empty and derelict in the 1980's, re-claimed in the 1990's, there was still a lot of original character and material in this little mongrel of a building. Because this building had been so worked over, it was more accomodating of change and a functional, colorful informality. I characterize the end result as 'French Country Western'.
